World Book Day

We have had a wonderful day today. We all dressed up as characters from our favourite books and have enjoyed exploring different characters through drama. We were really lucky to have had a visit from our local PCSO who read us 'The return of the Jabberwock'. I think he was more scared of us than we were of him! He was however really impressed with our knowledge of famous authors and was inspired by our passion for reading.

Roald Dahl

We are absolutely loving learning about Roald Dahl and reading some of his world famous stories. He has been a great inspiration for our own writing and we have had great fun exploring some of his wild and wonderful characters. Which Roald Dahl character are you most like and why? We have designed our own chocolate bars and even tricked our teacher by planting frogs in her pocket! ( just like Roald Dahl  did with a mouse when he way a boy).
Here are some of our lucky golden ticket winners.

Peer Coaching

In PE the children in Year 2 have been coaching our Reception children with ball skills. Not only have they been developing their own skills but helping and guiding our younger children too. They have shown great patience and encouragement. Well done Year 2!

Living Organisms

We have been learning about living organisms in science. We have been exploring different habitats and how organisms rely on each other to survive. The children in Year 2 even designed their own class display, including lots of  facts and information which we have learnt throughout the topic.

What time is it?

The children in Year 2 have been learning to tell the time by making human clocks! They then went onto making their own clocks out of paper plates. We remember the phrase 'Pink Past' and Blue To' to help us to read an analogue clock.
